Antidepressant-induced hyponatraemia

All antidepressants can cause hyponatraemia. This is most likely to be due to the Syndrome of Inappropriate ADH Secretion. Some factors for antidepressant-induced hyponatraemia include age over 80 years, history of hyponatraemia, impaired renal function and simultaneous administration of other hyponatraemia inducing drugs e.g. diuretics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, carbamazepine and cancer chemotherapy.
